Emma's new red car

Emma loves driving her new red car around the neighborhood.  The car was a birthday gift from Meme and Grandpa Scovel.  : )

1st Birthday Party!

We celebrated Emma's 1st birthday party last Saturday.  The party theme was "Princess."  I had so much fun planning and decorating, and love that I get to do this every year.  Thank you Grammy Sue for helping me hang the pom poms and set everything up.  I couldn't have done it without you.  Thank you Nanette "aka Grandma Frank" for making the amazing cupcakes, tiara cake and princess cake.  They were perfect for the party and quite delicious.  Thank you Nana for making the broccoli salad.  It was yummy!  And thank you to our family and friends who celebrated with us.  You all made this first birthday very special for Emma.

I found this outfit on Etsy.com and couldn't resist.  : )

Happy Birthday Emma!

Happy Birthday, Emma!  Can you believe this little munchkin is 1 year old today?!  Tonight, Emma ate her first cupcake.  We took the unconventional route and gave her a red velvet cupcake with plenty of icing and sprinkles.  She didn't know what to think at first but soon took to it, and she certainly enjoyed it more than the salmon, broccoli and carrots that preceded it.

We captured the moment in two videos.  The first camera died on us.  Good thing we had backup.  We were so determined to video Emma that we completely forgot to take pictures.  We have a small party planned for this Saturday afternoon at the house.  I have a feeling we'll get tons of pictures then.
Chris and I are so excited to celebrate with Sweet Pea this weekend.
Happy Birthday to our beautiful baby girl!  We love you!

Merry Christmas!

Emma had the best first Christmas.  We flew down to Greenville the week before Christmas to celebrate early with the Scovels.   Mema even drove up from Florida to spend the holiday with all of us.  It was really great having everyone together.  We returned to DC on the 23rd and spent the weekend with Grammy Sue and Chris's brother, Andy.  Emma's first Christmas was truly a memorable one.  Thank you everyone for making it so special for all of us.  We love you!
