Grammy Sue comes to town

We spent the weekend with my M-I-L who came to visit us in DC. We always have a great time, but this weekend was extra special. It's the first we've seen each other since our big announcement. Knowing how excited she is to be a grandma, I bought her this t-shirt in honor of her visit. I think she likes it! And she looks like one pretty cool Grandma.

She brought us a baby gift too. I couldn't think of a better way to initiate Baby Salisbury into the Steeler Nation.

Don't forget the Terrible "Toddler" Towel. Love it!

On Friday night, we watched the Nationals beat the SF Giants. We had amazing seats on the first base line, perfect for watching the President's Race. We were rooting for Teddy who has never won, but George was the big winner of the night. Check out these pictures from the game.

What a great weekend!

The Heartbeat

On July 1st, we had our second doctor appointment, and we got to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was music to our ears. Dr. Caskie warned us in advance that we may not be able to hear it right away. But lucky for us, we heard it immediately. It was beating so fast. It was an incredible moment we will never forget.

Thank You!

Chris and I have received numerous congratulatory cards and baby gifts from family and friends. Thank you all very much. Chris and I really appreciate the thoughtfulness and generosity. No doubt this baby will be loved AND spoiled. Check out some of the baby's first presents.

Thank you to my sweet Mother-In-Law for this adorable little teddy bear, the baby's first stuffed animal. I can already picture the little one snuggling up next to it.

Thank you to my client's wife, Nanette (AKA Grandma Frank) who sent me this bib and the baby's first book, Goodnight Moon.

Sports Fan in the Making

Thanks to Aunt Jackie and Aunt Roonie, Baby Salisbury is ready to cheer on the Gamecocks and the Hoosiers. How cute are these onesies with matching bibs!

Happy Father's Day!

For Father's Day, Chris and I went to brunch with his Dad "Pop" and Betsy. We felt this was the perfect time to tell them we are having a baby. We decided to let the gift speak for itself. The gift was a frame. On the bottom, it read, "Great Dads get promoted to Grandpa." Unfortunately, it didn't sink in for either of them, so Chris had to tell them that I am pregnant. They were very excited and can't wait to be grandparents.

We told my dad the news the week before. I wanted to let them know before flying to Florida to surprise my grandmother "Mema" with the news. I felt it was appropriate to tell Mema in person that she was going to be a great-grandmother.

Chris got a couple of Father's Day cards too. This time next year, he will be the father of a 5-month old. So exciting!

Fruit of the week

I saw this on thebump.com and couldn't resist posting it.

First Picture

We had our first doctors appointment on June 3rd. We were able to see the baby's heartbeat, which was absolutely amazing.

We have news!

We are pregnant! Chris and I found out on Thursday, May 6, 2010. Its been tough keeping it a secret because we are so excited, but we wanted to wait until after the first trimester.
