One Month Old

Leighton is now one month old!  Where did the time go?  This sweet little girl has brought us so much joy.  And she has had one busy month especially in trying to keep up with her big sister.  Leighton has followed  Emma to several parks and playgrounds.  She's been to her first baseball game, and just last week she took her first trip to the Cottage.  Chris and I feel comfortable taking her everywhere with us because she is such a good baby.  She is very easy going, unlike her big sister who Daddy is now calling a High Maintenance Munchkin (HMM).  : )  Leighton smiles all the time and genuinely seems to be happy.  We couldn't love this little girl more!

Best friends!

We had a playdate with Emma's friend Elsa on Monday. The girls had such a good time. Emma cried when it was time to leave. I'm hoping to get the girls together as much as possible while I'm on maternity leave.

Pigtails

Emma's hair is finally long enough for pigtails!  What a cutie pie.  : )

Mother's Day

Chris and the girls really spoiled Mommy this year.  I feel very lucky!  The weekend started with these beautiful flowers.

Not sure how I feel about the "Munchkin Squad"

On Saturday we headed to the Little Gym for Emma's gym class and then brunch on Barracks Row.

On Sunday Chris made me my favorite breakfast- eggs benedict.  And then we headed to the Nationals game.

At three weeks old I'm pretty sure Leighton was the youngest person at the game today.

Emma was very excited to get her picture taken with the mascot "Screech"
Thank you Chris, Emma and Leighton for a wonderful Mother's Day.  I love you all!

Two Weeks Old

Leighton has been the absolute best baby!  She sleeps, eats and poops....and that's pretty much it.  :)  She is feeding every 2-3 hours, which is good, but it makes for a tired Mommy.  Emma is such a good big sister.  She really loves Leighton and wants to hold her, hug her and kiss her all the time.  I couldn't ask for two better girls.  These first few weeks have flown by.  It's hard to believe my littlest is almost one month old.

My first bath

We gave Leighton her first bath last night and she did great.  If you remember Emma screamed through her first bath, so we were expecting a similar reaction from Leighton.  But we think she actually liked it.  Emma was very excited to help bathe her sister.  She stood by with blue cup in hand ready to dump water on the baby.  And when she realized that wasn't happening, she thought it best to jump on Mommy's back.
