Project Runway
As you can see below, Emma is ready for the runway in this adorable outfit with matching headband. I think these pictures are hilarious, mostly because they remind me of Project Runway (one of my favorite shows). I can just imagine Tim Gunn telling Emma to "make it work." Ha! Emma is still a little too small for this one, but I couldn't wait to see it on her. Thank you Cathy Norwood!

Emma and Elsa
Bath Time!
If you heard about Emma's first bath or saw the video, then you wouldn't believe me if I told you that she now loves the bath. Poor Emma screamed her head off the first, second and third time we put her in the tub. But now, she loves it or at least appears less bothered.
This video is for all the nonbelievers.

Emma meets her Great Aunt Connie
My Aunt Connie visited us this past weekend from Greenville, SC. She came up to meet Emma and see our house. We had such a wonderful time with her and she spent lots of quality time with the baby. She even helped me take Emma to her follow up dr. appointment. Emma was fine, but she did need a shot. The shot definitely bothered me more than Emma, so it was a nice having Connie there for moral support. On Saturday Chris and I were able to take care of some errands and get our taxes done. It was great to get out of the house for a bit knowing Emma was in good hands. We weren’t able to do much sightseeing with the baby, but we did manage a trip to Target. Connie and I couldn’t resist buying Emma these adorable outfits. She is sporting one of her new warm-up suits above. What a cutie! I think she likes it.
We were sad to see Connie go, but we look forward to her next visit. Emma would like to thank her Great Aunt for a nice weekend and for all her new clothes!

1 Month Old
Happy Birthday Emma! Can you believe our sweet Emma is 1 month old?! Where did the time go? Emma spent this past month eating, sleeping and pooping. : ) One thing we noticed immediately is that she likes to sleep with her hands above her head. As much as we try to swaddle her, she manages to pull her arms out every time. She likes having her hands by her face. When she is awake, Emma is very alert. She loves listening to Mommy read her books, and loves for Daddy to sing. She has the funniest personality and she makes the cutest faces. She is now starting to coo and smile while she is awake, which melts my heart. Emma has already outgrown some of her newborn clothes. Her cheeks are plumping up and her thighs have the cutest rolls of fat. I can’t wait to see how much she weighs at her next dr. appt.
One thing she does not like is being naked. In fact she only cries when she is naked or we change her diaper. This may explain her dislike for bath time. Our poor baby screams as soon as we put her in the tub. I'm sure she will grow out of it, but for now, she is not a fan. We are still working to establish a feeding/sleeping routine, but every day gets easier. We’ve loved watching Emma grow and discover her surroundings. These days, she prefers to be in her swing or bouncy seat. Both play music and vibrate. She just discovered the mobile above her swing and will stare intently at it. Emma loves to be bounced, rocked, and walked around the house. We find ourselves doing laps every night. It really soothes her when she is fussy.
Emma went to the doctor a couple times this month. Chris and I really like the doctors at Children’s Medical Associates (CMA). They take good care of our baby. Emma has gained weight at every appointment, and is doing great. She will get a shot at the next appointment, which I am not looking forward to. Mommy may have to leave the room for this one.
It’s been quite the adjustment, but I treasure every day I am home with Emma. We couldn’t have asked for a better baby. She has made Chris and me incredibly happy. It’s hard to imagine our lives before Emma. Well, I do remember the sleep. That was nice. :)
It’s crazy to think that we made this little person. It truly is a miracle and we feel very blessed. We love you Emma!
